Waiting for Marie and Fabrice

What can I post this week? Don't know...Well the only thing coming to my mind is: Marie and Fabrice are visiting us this week-end!!!!! So happy, can't wait!!!! New-York together for the second time.

Bad Bastille Day

In Raleigh there was no Bastille Day celebration, so now that we live in NY, where the French community is huge, there were many options for us. We decided to have a walk on 60th street bet 5th ave. and Lexington ave. at the traditional Bastille Day street fair and, the conclusion is simple, we will never come back.

No interest at all: the barbecue and fried smell was horrible, there was too many people and because of that, it was not easy to see if there were some interesting booths.

Anyway, next year we will go somewhere else (maybe Smith street in Brooklyn like la petite toulousaine suggests on her blog) or we will simply drink a Pastis watching Amelie (not a cliché of course).

A Raleigh, il n'y avait pas de célébration du 14 juillet alors maintenant que nous sommes à NY où la communauté française est énorme nous avions l'enbarras du choix.

Nous avons ainsi choisi d'aller nous promener sur la 60th street entre 5th ave et Lexington et, bilan des courses, on n'y retournera pas. Ça n'a aucun intérêt: ça pue la friture, il y a beaucoup trop de monde et c'est notamment pour cela qu'il était impossible de nous rendre compte s'il y avait des stands intéressants.

Bref, l'an prochain on ira tout simplement ailleurs (peut-être sur Smith Street à brooklyn comme le suggère la petite toulousaine sur son blog) ou on se boiera un Pastis pénards à la maison en regardant Amélie Poulain (non, non, c'est pas cliché).

Celebrate Brooklyn!

On Friday night we enjoyed summer in Brooklyn in a different way: live!

Indeed, we went to a concert on Prospect Park (part a of the Celebrate Brooklyn event) with little Tobias who danced non stop and our friends Paola and Roberto.

The 2 bands where Aterciopelados y Amigos Invisibles, two very well known bands from Latin America (Colombia and Venezuela) and it was awesome!!! Everything was good: the music, the weather, the atmosphere, the company, the drinks and the food!

Brooklyn Flea

Today I went to the Brooklyn Flea Market in Dumbo.

The location is amazing: just under the brooklyn Bridge, I found some cute treasures but, in my opinion, there were too many food stands...

I also met 2 other memberd of the NewNew Team, Mirela and Lisa, and I selected my favorite item from their Esty shop:

Fleur Rings!

I added new rings on Etsy yesterday and I want to share with you the result! Lovely right?

And, I just saw in a magazine that Dior is also doing flower rings for summer. Of course the materials and the price are not the same ($10,000 vs $25...) but that only confirmed that my ring are SO trendy! so proud!

En plus je viens de voir dans un magazine que Dior fait aussi les Bagues Fleurs cet été. Bien sûr, les materiaux et le price sont différents ($10 000 contre $25...) mais cela montre juste que mes bagues sont TOP tendances! Je suis trop fière!

The New New Team

Today I joined a very active and very well organized (just like I like them!) group of artists and crafters living in the NYC area: The New New Team.

This group "encourages a spirit of camaraderie through craftsmanship and strives to help its members achieve success on both a personal and professional level. Members come from many different backgrounds and produce fine, handcrafted goods including clothing, home décor, jewelry, accessories, paper goods, bath and body products, toys, and baked goods."

I'm very excited and I look forward to meet New New people and develop my jewelry sales!

Aujourd'hui j'ai rejoins un collectif d'artistes et de créateurs habitant sur New York et ses alentours. Il semblerait que ce groupe soit très actif et plutôt bien organisé (exactement comme je les aime).

Ce groupe encourage l'esprit de camaraderie autour des travaux manuels afin d'aider ces adhérents a rencontrer le succès aussi bien au niveau professionnel qu'au niveau personnel. Les adhérents viennent de backgrounds très différents et créer des biens "fait main" dans plusieurs catégories: vêtements, déco, bijoux, accessoires, papier, beauté, jouets, pâtisserie.

Je suis super contente et espère rencontrer pleins de New New personnes et aussi de développer encore plus mes ventes de bijoux!

First piñata!

This week-end was Raulito's birthday and, as every Mexican birthday should be there were a piñata.

Tobias was fascinated! We had a very nice day!

Ce week-end nous étions invité à l'anniversaire de Raulito et, comme pour tout anniversaire à la mexicaine qui se respecte, il y avait une piñata. 

Tobias était fasciné! Nous avons passé une journée très agréable!
